About the role

The Associate Director, Microsoft Alliance Sales Lead for the Americas translates Avanade’s global Microsoft alliance strategy into growth across the U.S., Canada, and Brazil. This role leads alliance sales execution in the U.S. and drives alignment across the region, strengthening the Avanade–Accenture–Microsoft partnership across Direct and Indirect channels.

As a senior alliance leader for the Americas, this individual builds executive relationships, drives joint business planning and go-to-market execution, and accelerates pipeline growth, account expansion, and sales performance.

This is an alliance leadership role rather than a traditional quota-carrying sales position, with success measured by the ability to influence pipeline, co-selling, and commercial outcomes through the Microsoft partnership.

This role offers flexibility to be based within the United States, provided the individual is within commutable distance of an Avanade office. The position supports the broader Americas region, including the U.S., Canada, and Brazil, and requires approximately 25% travel.

Growth & Go-to-Market • Lead U.S. execution of the Microsoft Joint Partner Business Plan and align regional priorities. • Drive Microsoft-influenced pipeline, account expansion, co-sell opportunities, and sales growth across Direct and Indirect channels. • Orchestrate cross-OU and cross-Solution Area opportunities that require broader regional coordination. • Support targeted account campaigns and joint pursuits. • Optimize Microsoft investments, incentives, and funding to accelerate opportunities and support growth. • Strengthen Avanade–Accenture–Microsoft engagement on shared opportunities. • Structure and coordinate partnership-led GTM activity across solutions and offers, enablement, marketing, partner activation, and joint account pursuits.

Performance & Enablement • Monitor alliance performance against regional and global priorities. • Provide performance insights and recommendations to Americas and global leadership. • Promote consistent execution, knowledge sharing, and reuse of successful alliance plays across the region. • Drive consistency and alignment across Alliance Sales Leads operating within individual markets. . Qualifications • Strong experience within the Microsoft ecosystem, either directly at Microsoft or through experience leading Microsoft partnerships or alliances. • Demonstrated experience leading strategic technology partnerships or alliance programs. • Strong understanding of Microsoft partner business planning, joint go-to-market execution, co-selling, funding programs, Solution Areas, and industry structure. • Proven ability to translate partnerships into measurable commercial outcomes, including pipeline generation, account expansion, and successful joint pursuits. • Ability to influence and drive execution across highly matrixed organizations and complex stakeholder groups. • Strong executive presence and experience building relationships across senior internal and external stakeholders. • Experience within professional services or a global systems integrator is preferred but not required.

Success Measures • Microsoft-influenced pipeline, sales, conversion, and account growth. • Results from cross operating unit and cross-Solution Area initiatives. • Effective use of Microsoft investments and funding. • Strength of executive relationships and alliance engagement. • Consistent execution of Americas and global alliance priorities.
