About the role
Job Description
Fabletics is currently looking for a Senior Retail Operations Specialist.
How Do You Fit In?
Own complex store-facing operational systems, promotions, and technology initiatives as a senior individual contributor. Drive cross-functional decisions, anticipate execution risks, and build scalable solutions that protect the customer experience and store sales.
As our retail business continues to grow and evolve, this role will adapt to support emerging operational priorities, technologies, systems, and initiatives. The individual is expected to demonstrate flexibility, proactively identify opportunities for improvement, and take ownership of responsibilities aligned with the evolving needs of Retail Operations and the broader business.
This position will report to the VP, Global Retail Operations & Training
What You Will Do:
Proprietary Point of Sale and Beta Program • Partner with Product and Engineering to investigate POS issues, identify patterns, prioritize store-impacting defects, and validate solutions. • Maintain the beta store roster, coordinate onboarding and offboarding, gather structured feedback for beta builds (typically 1–2 per month), and assess program health. • Identify Omnisuite training gaps and coordinate accurate, current resources with the Training team. • Independently analyze recurring defects and beta feedback, recommend priorities and program improvements, and influence Product/Engineering decisions.
Promotions and Retail Calendar • Build retail-specific promotions end-to-end in the CMS using strong knowledge of Omnisuite capabilities; partner with Buying & Allocation to validate Featured Product Lists (FPL). • Coordinate and conduct prelaunch tests, recruit additional testers when needed, fix promotional configurations, and retest until the promotion functions as intended. • Own the main Retail HQ promotional calendar, confirm accuracy with Buying & Allocation, document changes, and communicate updates to the field. • Escalate any unresolved issue that could prevent accurate promotional execution before launch; do not knowingly advance a nonfunctional promotion. • Lead resolution of complex promotional issues, anticipate calendar conflicts, and recommend launch escalation when readiness cannot be established.
Cross-functional Planning and Field Readiness • Coordinate and lead TOM alignment and weekly planning alignment with Buying & Allocation, VM, Retail Marketing, People, Field, Operations/Training, and Activations. • Prepare agendas and cover current-month promotions, Retail 411 topics, field-leader questions, decisions, owners, and follow-up actions. • Partner with VM to verify promotional playbook accuracy and ensure critical callouts are reflected in FOCUS; connect teams so stores have complete, actionable direction. • Drive decisions and accountability across functions; challenge unclear or conflicting field direction before release.
Technology Pilots and Rollouts • Partner with the Director of Product to recommend rollout plans, develop store-readiness checklists, coordinate training, gather pilot feedback, and support field adoption. • Support store technology initiatives such as Tap on Glass and Fixed Cash Wrap with testing, readiness verification, and issue follow-through. • Lead Retail Operations readiness for complex pilots and fleetwide implementations, identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities to improve adoption.
StoreForce and Operational Controls • Serve as a StoreForce administrator in partnership with the Senior Retail Operations Manager responsible for labor; investigate issues, open help desk tickets, and close the loop. • Prepare, validate, and upload monthly budget and KPI files; confirm data integrity and correct errors. • Review Retail Operations tasks prepared by the Retail Operations Coordinator for appropriate use and accuracy. • Support Monday payroll-week timekeeping audits; document compliance exceptions, coach Store Managers, and maintain Regional Director visibility. • Identify recurring data/control failures and implement sustainable process improvements with the labor owner.
Field Issue Resolution and Vendor Coordination • Own assigned Freshservice tickets through investigation, resolution, and communication to stores; document recurring solutions and relevant direction in FOCUS. • Prioritize issues that impact a store’s ability to sell, transact, or serve customers; escalate promptly when immediate resolution is not possible. • Coordinate ShopperTrak traffic-counting issues with the vendor and work with Good360 to ensure stores are matched to the appropriate program. • Use issue patterns and root-cause analysis to drive permanent solutions and improve field support processes.
AI Literacy, Automation & Continuous Improvement • Complete company-provided AI training and demonstrate applied proficiency with approved AI tools and automation workflows. • Proactively identify, pilot, and implement AI-supported process improvements that reduce repetitive work, improve accuracy, and increase Retail Operations team capacity. • Partner with stakeholders to document, validate, measure, and scale effective automations; coach teammates on practical use and responsible adoption. • Apply appropriate human review and follow company data privacy, information security, and technology approval requirements. • Support additional operational programs, systems, projects, and cross-functional initiatives as business priorities evolve, including responsibilities not specifically outlined above that are consistent with the position’s scope and level.
What You Can Bring: • Ideal candidate brings foundational AI literacy, including experience using generative AI tools, and a proactive mindset to experiment with new technologies to drive productivity and innovation. • Retail is in your blood! You have led store teams as an assistant manager or store manager in a fast-paced specialty retailer and it is still one of your favorite jobs ever! • A minimum of 4 years of relevant retail management or retail operations experience, or equivalent, with demonstrated ownership of complex cross-functional initiatives. • Highly proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, and working knowledge of retail inventory and POS systems. • Experience with additional software (JIRA, Airtable, StoreForce, Canva) a plus. • Be extremely comfortable building advanced spreadsheet models and have an analytical and quantitative mind. • Demonstrated ability to lead complex operational problem-solving independently, influence cross-functional partners, and improve processes at scale. • Willingness to complete company-provided AI training and use approved AI tools to improve workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and validate outputs responsibly. • Great interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment. • You have time management skills and are comfortable managing multiple projects and dealing with shifting priorities. • Be part of a world-class team; work with an adventurous spirit; think and act like an owner-operator! • Have a high degree of comfort dealing with ambiguity, including the ability to take initiative when an opportunity presents itself. • The ability to multi-task, set priorities and work well under pressure. • May require some nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs. • Willing to travel to store locations with the ability to stay for a long duration as needed; up to 20% travel needed. • This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
What Success Looks Like: • Complex promotions and systems issues are resolved proactively with minimal store disruption. • Beta insights and issue trends shape product decisions and sustainable operational improvements. • Technology pilots and rollouts are executed with clear readiness criteria, cross-functional ownership, and field adoption. • Operational controls, planning cadence, and escalation practices improve reliability at scale. • Delivers measurable workflow improvements using approved AI tools, documents quality controls, and shares repeatable practices across the team.
