Senior Faculty Affairs Coordinator USC Marshall School of Business Office of the Vice Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs

The Senior Faculty Affairs Coordinator at the USC Marshall School of Business provides a range of complex services supporting the faculty employee life cycle. The Sr. Faculty Affairs Coordinator supports all faculty-related programs, policies, and procedures.
This position supports the Vice Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs and works closely with the Dean, Vice Deans and Department Chairs, and interacts regularly with central university offices, Marshall Business Affairs, and the Marshall academic units. This position is part of a small team that provides a broad range of administrative and project functions that vary in complexity, with minimal supervision. This position administratively reports to the Associate Director for Faculty and Academic Affairs.
Key Responsibilities: • Performs a range of administrative and human resources-related functions for faculty and maintains functional oversight of faculty hiring, tenure, and promotions. • Manages core faculty data and documents across critical record-keeping systems, including FAM and USC Workday. Ensures data confidentiality and appropriate document retention. • Manages and coordinates changes to faculty payroll processes in close partnership with Marshall Business Affairs, central payroll, and other relevant units. • Assists the Vice Dean of Faculty and Academic Affairs and human resources with maintaining and managing confidential files related to faculty misconduct and other sensitive issues. • Assists the Vice Dean of Faculty and Academic Affairs and other Marshall leaders in developing and executing new and/or special faculty-related initiatives. • Coordinates communications with faculty and serves as a key point of contact for all faculty inquiries. • Generates and analyzes reports on faculty-related data and assists in faculty data presentations. • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Job Qualifications:
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree Minimum Experience: 3 years Minimum Field of Expertise: Ability to work independently with minimal to no direct supervision or guidance. Experience with and understanding of faculty-related processes (e.g., tenure, sabbaticals). Extremely organized and self-motivated. Experienced in Microsoft Office. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Education: Master's degree Preferred Experience: 5 years Preferred Field of Expertise: • Leadership experience. • Familiarity with faculty salary systems and contract administration. • Understanding of the university’s faculty and culture. Passion for higher education. • Experience coordinating large-scale academic events and faculty-facing initiatives. • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple administrative units (HR, Provost, IT, Payroll).
Anticipated Hiring Range: The budgeted hourly range for this position is $43.90 - $52.08 - $62.51. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer alignment, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
