The Role:

Title: Head of People Performance & Development

Team: People

Location: Gibraltar, UK, or Malta

We’ve spent the last five years building strong People foundations. Now we want to take them to the next level.

Our ambition is to build a next-generation People function: creative, commercially grounded, data-led, and designed specifically for how Midnite works. We’re not looking to copy an off-the-shelf HR playbook. We want to create differentiated programmes that raise the bar, reinforce our culture, and help talented people perform at their best as we scale.

As Head of People Performance & Development, you’ll own that challenge. You’ll combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, turning bold ideas into simple, credible programmes that managers use, employees trust, and the business can see the impact of.

You will:

Own and evolve RAD, our performance approach, from framework design through to manager enablement, calibration, and continuous improvement. •

Build progression and levelling frameworks that give people clarity, support consistently high standards, and scale without unnecessary bureaucracy. •

Create a proactive L&D strategy that strengthens managers, develops critical capabilities, and brings Midnite’s cultural tenets to life. •

Turn performance data into meaningful talent reviews and succession plans, ensuring our strongest people are recognised, stretched, and retained. •

Use performance, engagement, and retention insights to identify opportunities, test ideas, and prove measurable impact. •

Partner directly with founders, VPs, and functional leaders—building trust, navigating resistance, and adapting your approach without compromising the outcome. •

Own programmes end-to-end: diagnose, design, launch, embed, measure, and iterate.

    The next Midniter:

Has built and run high-impact People programmes in a fast-moving tech scale-up and understands what high performance looks like in that environment. •

Is both strategic and deeply hands-on—you don’t stop at the deck or framework; you make the programme work in practice. •

Thinks creatively and challenges conventional HR approaches, while staying pragmatic and commercially focused. •

Uses data to make decisions, tell a compelling story, and demonstrate measurable results. •

Has the credibility and adaptability to influence founders and senior leaders, including those who may be resistant to change. •

Thrives in ambiguity, moves at pace, and takes real ownership for outcomes.

This is a rare opportunity to shape how a rapidly scaling business drives performance, progression, learning, and culture—and to build People programmes that are genuinely Built Different.
