Housing & Food Services has an outstanding opportunity for an Amenities Operations – Temporary Project Appointment for Residential Life to join their team.
This is a temporary position expected to end mid-May 2027.
About this Opportunity
Provide day-to-day operational leadership for Area 01, including supervision, coaching, scheduling support, training, and performance management of student employees and student coordinators. Maintain consistent facility operations, customer service expectations, access procedures, safety practices, and opening/closing standards. Respond to operational issues and coordinate follow-up with Amenities leadership and campus partners.
Key Responsibilities
40% – Area 01 Community Center Operations and Student Staff Supervision Provide day-to-day operational leadership for Area 01, including supervision, coaching, scheduling support, training, and performance management of student employees and student coordinators. Maintain consistent facility operations, customer service expectations, access procedures, safety practices, and opening/closing standards. Respond to operational issues and coordinate follow-up with Amenities leadership and campus partners. 30% – Fitness Center West Operations Oversee daily operations for Fitness Center West, including student staffing, facility readiness, equipment and space concerns, customer service, access management, safety procedures, and coordination of fitness-related operations. Support student staff development, address escalated concerns, and ensure continuity of service throughout the temporary assignment. 20% – Poplar Print & Patchworks Operations Provide operational oversight for Poplar Print & Patchworks, including supervision and support of student staff, facility procedures, equipment and supply coordination, safety expectations, customer service, and implementation of established operational policies. Coordinate with Amenities staff and campus partners on facility, technology, access, and program needs. 10% – Administrative, Departmental, and Collaborative Responsibilities Participate in Amenities and Residential Life meetings, maintain records and operational documentation, support assessment and reporting, assist with budget and purchasing processes, coordinate with HFS and UW partners, and complete additional operational projects necessary to maintain continuity of Amenities services or Residence Life operations.
Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants who do not meet these qualifications WILL NOT be forwarded to the Hiring Department. · Bachelor’s degree in student development or a related field. · Minimum of two years of experience working with Residence Life, Student Activities, Information Technology or other relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications · Demonstrated ability and interest in learning and utilizing advanced technology (proficiency with advanced technology such as 3D printing is not a requirement, but desire to explore and learn is required). · Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise student staff. · Demonstrated commitment to student learning/development and collaboration with staff, faculty and students in delivery of programs and services. · Knowledgeable regarding student development and learning, residential academic initiatives and University programs and services. · Strong written and oral communication skills and attention to detail.
Working Conditions Position works a regular day shift with some evening and weekend events and activities. Position involves program and project management, chairing meetings and speaking publicly.
