The Opportunity: Job Description We are seeking a System Engineer professional to support the design, implementation, and management of the security and operational boundaries that separate the organization’s internal networks from external, untrusted networks. This role combines network engineering with systems engineering to ensure that the perimeter of a network is clearly defined, controlled, and protected.
Responsibilities: • Support large, complex network engineering efforts with evolving requirements and significant scale. • Support the development of network architectures and detailed designs; integrate, configure, deploy, test, troubleshoot, and sustain a broad range of network devices, interfaces, protocols, and technologies. • Analyze and optimize end-to-end system performance, network capacity, traffic flows, and dataflow management. • Configure and optimize network connectivity among front-end, back-end, and distributed system components. • Coordinate across systems engineering, network engineering, software, and dataflow teams to support mission operations and minimize downtime. • Use design analysis, modeling, testing, and network performance-monitoring tools to reduce latency, eliminate bottlenecks, and maximize throughput and availability. • Produce and maintain requirements, architecture diagrams, interface definitions, test plans, configuration baselines, and operational documentation; communicate technical decisions and risks to stakeholders.
Qualifications: • Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) required; sponsorship is not available. • Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Systems Engineer on programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, including experience performing network engineering functions. • Demonstrated experience leading network requirements development, architecture, design, integration, testing, deployment, performance optimization, and operational support. • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree, for a total of nineteen (19) years of experience. • Knowledge of network security principles, configuration management, and technical documentation practices.
