About the role
Your work days are brighter here.
We’re obsessed with making hard work pay off, for our people, our customers, and the world around us. As a Fortune 500 company and a leading AI platform for managing people, money, and agents, we’re shaping the future of work so teams can reach their potential and focus on what matters most. The minute you join, you’ll feel it. Not just in the products we build, but in how we show up for each other. Our culture is rooted in integrity, empathy, and shared enthusiasm. We’re in this together, tackling big challenges with bold ideas and genuine care. We look for curious minds and courageous collaborators who bring sun-drenched optimism and drive. Whether you're building smarter solutions, supporting customers, or creating a space where everyone belongs, you’ll do meaningful work with Workmates who’ve got your back. In return, we’ll give you the trust to take risks, the tools to grow, the skills to develop and the support of a company invested in you for the long haul. So, if you want to inspire a brighter work day for everyone, including yourself, you’ve found a match in Workday, and we hope to be a match for you too.
About the Team It's fun to work in a company where people truly believe in what they're doing. At Workday, we're committed to bringing passion and focus to the business of enterprise applications. We work hard, and we're serious about what we do. But we like to have a good time, too. In fact, we run our company with that principle in mind every day: One of our core values is fun.
Business Technology(BT) in Workday continues its mission to deliver unparalleled value to our business partners and customers. The Strategy and Business Operations team works with stakeholders within BT and outside to define, align on, and implement the strategic programs and operations. The team is also responsible for standardizing program methodologies, tools and operations/metrics across the BT organization to provide a unified experience to business stakeholders and customers. About the Role
We're looking for an experienced enablement professional who is energized by being first in line for the newest capabilities Workday builds — and who understands that being "Customer Zero" is a privilege paired with real responsibility. As a Customer Zero Enablement Senior Manager,, you'll serve as the connective tissue between our BT Customer Zero Enablement team and Product Management teams, championing the internal adoption of Workday's own products — including our AI agents and emerging capabilities — before they reach the broader market. This role operates on significant and unique initiatives where the right path forward isn't always obvious: you'll evaluate intangibles, exercise independent judgment on rollout approach, and build formal working networks that coordinate internal pilot groups, product teams, and business stakeholders. You'll act as both an advocate — representing the needs, friction points, and enthusiasm of internal employees back to product development — and a driver of enablement, ensuring internal teams are ready, informed, and motivated to run their real work on unfinished or newly released software. This role carries senior-level scope and influence through expertise and cross-functional leadership rather than formal people management — you'll define the Customer Zero enablement strategy for your initiatives and act independently to determine the right methods for new or special assignments. A genuine excitement for being an early adopter of new technology, a solid grounding in change and adoption principles, and a strong point of view on how AI is reshaping internal workflows are all critical to success in this role.
About You
In this role, you'll own and drive the enablement strategy that makes Workday's internal use of its own products a credible proof point for the market. Responsibilities include:
Serve as the primary owner of the Customer Zero enablement strategy for assigned products and initiatives — defining how internal teams are onboarded, supported, and motivated to adopt new Workday capabilities ahead of general availability.
Act as the internal advocate and feedback conduit between employees using Workday's own products day-to-day and the Product Management teams building them, translating friction points and enthusiasm into product-shaping input.
Own the Customer Zero communication strategy — from ideation to execution — that explains what's changing, why employees are getting early access, and what's expected of them as first users, including how tactics are reviewed, delivered, and measured.
Champion the responsible use of AI as a core part of Customer Zero — helping internal teams adopt Workday's own AI agents and capabilities in their daily workflows, using generative AI tools to accelerate content creation and personalization, and critically evaluating what "good" adoption looks like before broad usage data exists.
Partner with Product Management and Business Operations to define the strategy, sequencing, and readiness criteria for rolling new features and products out internally before they reach customers.
Create high-quality, consumable materials that prepare internal teams to be effective early adopters — explaining new capabilities, known limitations, and how to give useful feedback. Materials include, but are not limited to:Slack messages and channels for real-time updates and quick tips Email announcements for structured information dissemination Short-form video tutorials and demonstrations Intranet pages, FAQs, and AI-powered chatbots or knowledge assistants for self-service support
Collaborate with IT product managers, enablement, and communications teams to drive a cohesive, credible internal adoption story that can be shared externally with prospects and customers.
Build persona-based enablement campaigns — tailoring messaging, content, and channels to distinct employee personas (by role, product familiarity, or team) to drive more relevant, higher-impact adoption.
Curate and share Customer Zero success stories — capturing internal wins, lessons learned, and measurable outcomes into compelling narratives that build internal momentum and serve as credible proof points for prospects and customers.
Define and track adoption and business-outcome metrics for products in Customer Zero status, using data and AI-assisted analytics to measure usage, sentiment, and the tangible benefit realized internally — then feed those results back into product development and external narratives.
Act with urgency and organization to meet or exceed timelines, particularly given the ambiguity inherent in rolling out unfinished or newly released software internally.
Contribute to in-person and virtual collaboration sessions, bringing an adoption and end-user lens to product and program discussions.
Stay current on Customer Zero, AI, and change enablement trends across the industry, proactively bringing new ideas and practices back to the team.

Other Qualifications: • Certification in a formal change management methodology (e.g., PROSCI, CCMP) • Experience designing persona-based enablement campaigns and curating success stories, translating internal adoption wins into narratives that resonate with different audiences internally and externally • Comfort working with generative AI tools for content creation, drafting, and analysis, paired with sound judgment about when human review and nuance are essential • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud • Critical thinker: Thinks things through carefully and critically before defining issues. Is able to act thoughtfully and productively even when “things are up in the air.” • Works with speed and agility: Takes the initiative to learn/educate themselves quickly when confronted with first-time or unusual problems or concepts. Pulls together varying elements into coherent concepts or strategic view. Simplifies complex initiatives into manageable, actionable steps. Articulately paints credible pictures and visions of likelihoods, possibilities, and end states that get clients and co-workers on board. • Continuous improvement: Continuously drives to identify and build knowledge and skills that can benefit the firm and our clients. Puts new skills and capabilities into practice. Pushes to find and do work outside of the comfort zone. Identifies opportunities to do something extraordinary, and does it. • Relationship building: Establishes and maintains productive relationships with internal partners built upon inclusivity and collaboration. Demonstrates respect and accountability to colleagues. Seeks variation in thought, ideas, and experience. Manages through differences by direct feedback.

Our Approach to Flexible Work
With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
