The Director, Facilities & Operations oversees the maintenance, energy operations, and environmental services operations of assigned facilities. Further, the Director, Facilities & Operations provides leadership to management staff and oversees all maintenance program initiatives.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Identifies, analyzes, and implements energy projects for assigned facilities. 2. Prepares department budget for funding requirements, and monitors expenditures. 3. Makes routine inspections of facilities to uphold maintenance standards. 4. Works as liaison between staff and departments to continuously assess facility conditions and keep facility assessment database accurate and up-to-date. 5. Prepares reports for leadership team regarding facility conditions and needs. 6. Collaborates in the planning of new construction and renovation projects. 7. Ensures facilities maintain a high level of emergency preparedness at all times. 8. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required

Experience: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience required

Certification and Licensing: Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements

  • Technology & Analytics: Understanding of technology, data analytics, and performance measurement to drive strategic decisions and identify opportunities.
  • Communication: Ability to influence others, articulate strategic vision, and ensure clear and persuasive communication.
